ICE has come to be one of the defining problems of the Trump administration’s vision for America. Its militarization has created new problems, namely turning cities and towns with high immigrant populations into war zones where masked men with guns keep communities locked behind doors, fearing an abrupt end to dreams and attempts at a safe and stable existence.

People everywhere, though, have taken up the task of resisting the deportation agency’s operations by way of protests, education, and community collaboration. Spreading the good word on how to protect against the violent practices that have been exhaustively recorded by brave people is a key component of the struggle for human rights and human decency in matters regarding migration. Zines and posters have proven to be great communicators in this.

Anyone Comics is lending its hand, as it has countless times before, in getting important information out to communities with their upcoming Hands Off NYC Zine and Poster event, slated for November 15th, 2025 at the store’s location (831 Nostrand Ave, Brooklyn, NY).

This creative gathering has been organized in collaboration with Hands Off NYC, a collective effort supported by unions, faith leaders, and community groups operating under the principle of non-violence resistance. They are now reaching out towards the comics community to further incorporate art into the initiative.

Hands Off is a response to ICE and federal government overreach in the city of New York. It aims to strengthen local power to promote a safer environment for everyone who calls the city home. Their website contains more information on future events and other public gatherings.

Here’s the event’s description:
