A Academia de Artes e Ciências Cinematográficas de Hollywood divulgou esta semana as listas dos filmes que são elegíveis às categorias de melhor Animação, Documentário e Melhor Filme Internacional. Com isso, o Brasil teve a confirmação de que pode ter dois longas concorrendo a algumas das principais categorias do Oscar 2026.
Entre eles está O Agente Secreto, de Kleber Mendonça Filho, que já vem se destacando em vários festivais internacionais e concorre a Melhor Filme Internacional. Estrelado por Wagner Moura, o longa-metragem volta ao Brasil dos anos 1970 para mostrar a história de um professor que é investigado pelo regime militar.
Oscar 2026 pode ter documentário brasileiro concorrendo
O outro nome brasileiro que pode concorrer ao Oscar 2026 é Apocalipse nos Trópicos, de Petra Costa. Lançado em julho deste ano em parceria com a Netflix, o título explora a crescente influência do movimento evangélico na política brasileira. Segundo as regras da Academia, ele também pode concorrer ao prêmio de Melhor Filme — mas, historicamente, isso nunca aconteceu com nenhum documentário. Confira as listas de indicados:

Quando a seleção final vai ser conhecida?
A partir das duas listas bastante extensas, a Academia vai realizar uma filtragem que deve diminuir cada uma delas para um total de 15 itens. O resultado desse processo vai ser divulgado ao público somente no dia 16 de dezembro deste ano, sendo que somente a categoria de Melhor Filme Internacional está aberta à votação de todos os membros.
Já na categoria de Documentário, a decisão sobre os 15 concorrentes finais vai caber ao grupo de membros especializados na área. A partir das duas seleções, a organização vai realizar uma grande votação entre os dias 8 e 12 de dezembro deste ano para selecionar os ganhadores do Oscar 2026 — que só vão ser apresentados ao público no dia 22 de janeiro de 2026.
