If you’re looking to beat the heat this July, Max offers a few options you can watch from the comforts of your hopefully cooler home. This includes a new 2024 entry from the critically-acclaimed A24, several movies for fans of the DC universe and for those looking to scratch a scary movie itch, the Saw franchise is available this month on the streamer.

Best TV show on Max in July: Hard Knocks: Offseason with the New York Giants (July 2)
Although House of the Dragon season 2 continues to air new episodes this month, I’m picking Hard Knocks: Offseason with the New York Giants as my pick for the best TV show in July. Anytime a sports team is willingly pulling the curtain on their franchise and culture, it’s worth taking a look. Even a member of the WTW staff who’s a diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan is excited to watch this new Hard Knocks spinoff featuring the Giants.
And of course, as a fan of the 90 Day universe, I have to mention that 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way season 6 also debuts this July.
Best movie on Max in July: Love Lies Bleeding (July 19)
A24 continues to be behind some of the most provocative and entertaining movie releases of the last few years, and Love Lies Bleeding exemplifies that point. The drama follows Kristen Stewart, a gym owner, and Katy O’Brian, a bodybuilder, as they embark on a whirlwind romance in a small town where the criminal underworld seems to rule. Not to mention, Ed Harris also stars in the movie and he’s almost unrecognizable.
Also debuting this month on Max is Michael Keaton and James Marsden’s crime thriller Knox Goes Away, classic family movie Babe and DC animated feature Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths Part Two.
Best documentary on Max in July — Faye (July 13)
Faye Dunaway is an Oscar-winning actress (for Network) and has had an illustrious career with several standout roles. Now she’s opening up in the self-titled documentary Faye, discussing her highs and lows in Hollywood and the personal struggles she’s fought to overcome. It will be interesting to watch her discuss why she considers one of her most popular movies, Mommie Dearest, to be a “critical career misstep.”
