Welcome to this week’s installment of The Beat’s Comics Crowdfunding Round-Up! Join us for a look into a fanmade comic, a supernatural time travel story, a cyberpunk thriller from game developers, and two more projects you’ll love!

Pink Kryptonite – A Supercorp Fan Comic Book – Volume 2

Creators: Sarah Amorim (Creator/Writer), Ana Patricia Ramos (Artist)
Goal:$1,671
End Date: September 20

With the Birds of Prey teaming up with Supergirl, Lena and Kara now have to set their differences aside if they want to get home safe and sound. But not before having some arguments and laying certain cards on the table. Amid all the chaos, Barbara Gordon suggests something rather… risky. And that’s how our group of women ends up in the laboratory of the renowned — and not very friendly — Pamela Isley.

Pink Kryptonite makes a return to the roundup, a fan-made Supergirl comic where Kara and Lena have to solve their issues and unresolved love as they make sure Gotham doesn’t descend into madness with a new virus on the loose. Honestly the project seemed like a alot of fun even with the first volume, seeing its return and project goal being met means that we have a lot of fans who are willing to check it out. The project page confirms that with over 130 backers already tied to the project with a month still to go. Make sure to check out this campaign!

Goal: $7,000

A visit home embroils Tart Acid in one of the great mysteries of her life… how it ended.

Supernatural Quantum Leap that’s what someone described the project as told on the project page. Looking through the preview pages its not hard to see why, Salle updates the art depending on the time period out main protagonist is which honestly just adds to how creative this comic is. All to culminate at the end to find out how tart died. I think thats a fantastic plot, and something I know readers will enjoy.

Glacier Bay makes a return to the roundup with three new titles from their current print, F., Flash Point, and Spring tides. Taking a look at the preview pages you can see that yet again Glacier Bay has gathered some fantastic creators to work on new projects. The North American-based, Ignatz Award-winning small press comics publisher is active in the arts comics space and specializing in indie manga and now they have brought these three projects for fans and newcomers to check out. With some engrossing stories, even an award winning title, we would be remiss not to mention this new campaign.

Tillie Walden ‘Spinning’

Creators: Tillie Walden (Creator/Writer/Artist)
Goal: $13,211
End Date: September 13
Goodies: Get the PDF copy for $19, the physical copy for $31, the physical copy plus the bookplate for $47, or at the highest tier get the physical copy, signed, sketched, and with bookplate!

A beautiful new UK edition of Tillie Walden’s classic coming-of-age graphic novel is coming to Avery Hill Publishing!

Spinning is a memoir of Tillie Waldens life and it follows their journey to reinvention. I believe the best part of this kind of project is that its honest, and with that honesty you are able to allow readers to not only engross themselves in your story, but to actually absorb it in their own way. That’s important to this kind of project, its what separates it from other kinds of memoirs, all in a graphic novel format. This project is special and for that reason it would be a shame not to check it out and at this moment 116 other fans feel the same way. With over $9,000 crowdfunded, make sure to take a look at this project before its too late.
