Why Dancing With the Stars: All Stars Needs to Happen Soon

It’s been far too long since we’ve seen a Dancing With the Stars: All Stars season, and fans like me want one sooner, rather than later.

Not only has it been too long, but there’s only been one All Stars season thus far, and it seems we’re at the point where another should happen.

DWTS is heading to Season 34, which already has at least one confirmed cast member with Robert Irwin, but as fans, we always want as much of our favorite show as we can possibly get.

Since the lone All Stars season aired in 2010, many DWTS seasons have passed, and it feels like they could now assemble a solid cast for a second All Stars, whether that’s former runner-ups or another themed cast.

Only One Dancing With the Stars: All Stars Season So Far?

Season 15 was the only season to have brought back former Dancing With the Stars winners and contestants to compete on the dance floor.

The former winners participating included General Hospital actress Kelly Monaco, singer Drew Lachey, NFL star Emmitt Smith, F1 race car driver Helio Castroneves, and USA Olympic gold medalists Apolo Anton Ohno and Shawn Johnson.

However, some of the other stars included Joey Fatone, Kirstie Alley, and Melissa Rycroft, who went on to win the All Stars season, defeating Monaco.

Some viewers were pleased with the DWTS 33 results as The Bachelor star Joey Graziadei dazzled alongside his professional dance partner, Jenna Johnson, to capture the Mirrorball Trophy.

Others were rooting for runner-ups such as Ilona Maher and Chandler Kinney, whom they might want to see compete again.

With Season 34 happening in the fall, an All Stars spinoff could really rev up additional interest for the dance competition show during the off-months.

Since Season 15, we’ve seen far too many interesting and entertaining celebrities appear on Dancing With the Stars who could return to create an intriguing cast trying to claim the trophy.

For example, just last season, con artist Anna Delvey made headlines on the show competing while wearing an ankle bracelet, and we’ve also seen controversial ice skater Tonya Harding as a runner-up on DWTS.

We’ve had winners in previous seasons, including Iman Shumpert, Charli D’Amelio, Amber Riley, Rumer Willis, Jordan Fisher, and Adam Rippon, who could return and attempt to win again.

There are even enough winners and contestants from The Bachelor or The Bachelorette who competed over DWTS’s 33 seasons to create a mini-group or theme for an All Stars season, and decide which is the best.

However, I genuinely believe an All-Stars season featuring former runner-ups that people wanted to see win could be a significant idea worth trying, with fans, including these Reddit commenters, seeming to agree.

Let’s Make Another All Stars Happen, DWTS

The focus is likely on Season 34, with cast reveals to happen in the next several months, and the season will play out towards the end of the year.

Still, launching a DWTS All-Stars as an exclusive streaming spinoff in early winter might be worth exploring for the franchise.

Disney+ or Hulu could provide the perfect home for a spinoff season like that, as both have featured DWTS content, and the all-athlete Season 18 proved DWTS can have shorter seasons.

Let’s face it, the series could use some additional excitement to get fans through the lengthy hiatuses of several months when they don’t see the dance competition show, so let’s hope this happens soon.
