Kodansha has announced (via its website) that it will be returning to Anime Expo this year. The publisher’s 2025 booth will showcase two highly anticipated anime titles: Gachiakuta, set to premiere on July 6, 2025, and the new Ghost in the Shell series, set to hit screens in 2026.
Anime and manga fans can join Kodansha at the publisher’s booth, located at SH-1225, to enjoy exclusive preview footage from both titles. Attendees will also be able to take photos with the publisher’s impressive giant standees, try their luck at the Gacha Gacha machine for unique merchandise, or take on the Giant Claw Machine, “Drop the Claw”!
According to the Kodansa website, booth activities will include:
- Photo Panels: Strike a pose with larger-than-life panels featuring a Trash beast and the main characters from Gachiakuta, as well as the iconic Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell.
- A Gacha Gacha Machine: Follow Kodansha’s social media accounts (@gachiakuta_news on X, @theghostintheshellofficial on IG, @KODANSHA_EN on X or IG) related to these series for a chance to win popular character and logo badges! You’ll have to spin to see what you get!
- The Giant Claw Machine “Drop the Claw”: Tag Kodansha’s social media accounts (@gachiakuta_news on X, @theghostintheshellofficial on IG, @KODANSHA_EN on X or IG) related to these series when you post your photos or videos for a chance to play “Drop the Claw”! Grab some awesome prizes you can only get at the event and show them off to everyone!
- Giant LED Monitor: Don’t miss the special collaboration video between Gachiakuta and Ghost in the Shell, as well as exclusive footage from each series, only viewable at our booth!
- Exhibits: Explore special video presentations, exhibition walls used to display reproductions of original artwork, and exclusive exhibits that will be unveiled on the day!
