Christmas hardcover annuals are a regular occurrence in the UK with multiple publishers pumping out licensed and home grown titles for families to pick up in time for the holiday season. Rebellion had tested the waters with their own starting with the Treasury of British Comics Annual in 2023. The barnstorming success of the Treasury annual helped pave the way for the return of the 2000 AD Annual after a three-decade hiatus last year – and sales have clearly done well enough to guarantee the continuation of both. Each annual will feature a mix of brand new material accompanied by gold nuggets from the archive.

The 2000 AD Annual 2026 promises new Judge Dredd, Judge Anderson, and Rogue Trooper stories by Rob Williams, Joe Currie, T.C. Eglington, Staz Johnson, Crom, and Jake Lynch alongside vintage material which Rebellion are keeping hush-hush about – but the teaser preview includes a Hap Hazard story written and drawn by the late Steve Dillon so that is at least confirmed.

The Treasury of British Comics Annual is often the most intriguing deal for comics fans, especially when it comes to the reprint side of things, as it draws on the enormous library of material accumulated by IPC Fleetway that now sits in Rebellion’s archives. For the third Treasury annual Rebellion have teased stories from classic British anthology comics Jag, Smash!, Wildcat, Wham!, Valiant, Misty and Whizzer & Chips. Expect a good mix of comedy, action and sci-fi/fantasy genre pieces.

The stories and creator line-up for the newly commissioned material making it into the Treasury of British Comics Annual 2026 include Helmet Head, written by Stephen Brotherstone & David Lawrence, art by Henrik Sahlstrom; Imagine If Gums Was Published in Action…, written by Ned Hartley, art by Steve White; Vanessa From Venus Vs Spellbinder, written and drawn by David Roach; and Mytek The Mighty, written by Suyi Davies Okungbowa, art by Edison Neo.
