Dark Horse Comics has announced Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories: The Bad Batch — Rogue Agents, a new, all-ages miniseries beginning this December. Reteaming writer Michael Moreci and artist Reese Hannigan (who previously collaborated on this year’s earlier series Bad Batch – Ghost Agents), the comic will take readers back in time to a mission the group of modified clone troopers carried out during the Clone Wars.
When a Separatist scientist and his dangerous invention go missing during the Clone Wars, Clone Force 99 is sent to track him down and prevent the device from falling into the wrong hands. But when Hunter, Wrecker, Crosshair, and Tech arrive at the scientist’s abandoned laboratory, they quickly realize that they aren’t the only ones on his trail, and that this mission will be different than any they’ve faced before!
Moreci and Hannigan will reunite with inker Elisabetta D’Amico, colorist Michael Atiyeh, and letterer Comicraft, who also worked on Ghost Agents. Issue #1 (of 4) will be released on December 17, 2025, with a main cover by Valeria Favoccia, and variants by Hannigan and Riley Rossmo, which you can check out below. In the meantime, the trade paperback of Ghost Agents will be released on November 18, and a Library Edition of Dark Horse’s first Hyperspace Stories series (including some stories by Moreci) will arrive on October 21.
Speaking of animated Star Wars series, earlier this week, Lucasfilm put up an exhibit to mark 20 years of Lucasfilm Animation at San Diego Comic-Con, where fans got to see a glimpse of future projects. This included the first still from the next animated Disney+ series, Maul – Shadow Lord, and a freshly shaved Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi) in Ahsoka season two. Both projects will be released on the streaming service sometime next year, and you can check out both images at the official Star Wars website.
