This fall, get swept up in unforgettable women’s fiction told through equally unforgettable female voices. From high-achievers confronting hometown ghosts to haunted memoirists and fanfic heroines chasing fantasy, these novels offer love, mystery, friendship, and second chances—all through richly drawn female perspectives. Whether you’re craving psychological suspense, emotional resonance, or a touch of the surreal, this powerful collection of women’s fiction is packed with characters you’ll root for, cry with, and never forget.

September is the beginning of the biggest publishing season, and it brings with it some new additions to the bestseller lists! First off are a couple of bestsellers getting the deluxe, sprayed edges treatment: Quicksilver (Deluxe Limited Edition) by Callie Hart and People We Meet on Vacation: Deluxe Edition by Emily Henry. Then we have the newest Freida McFadden thriller, The Surrogate Mother.

Romantasy is still going strong, as seen in On Wings of Blood by Briar Boleyn making it onto the bestseller lists. This is about a dragon rider half-fae attending a magical school with vampires.

The last new addition to the list is an anthology based on a classic Stephen King novel: The End of the World as We Know It: New Tales of Stephen King’s the Stand edited by Christopher Golden and Brian Keene.

This list continues to lack of diversity on many levels, including being disproportionately by white authors. Some Indie Bestsellers you should know about are The Emperor of Gladness by Ocean Vuong, The Lion Women of Tehran by Marjan Kamali, A Witch’s Guide to Magical Innkeeping by Sangu Mandanna, and Positive Obsession: The Life and Times of Octavia E. Butler by Susana M. Morris.

To get these numbers, we look at the New York Times, both Combined Print & E-Book Fiction and Combined Print & E-Book Nonfiction lists; Amazon Charts, both Fiction and Nonfiction; Publishers Weekly; USA Today; and Indie Bestsellers, Fiction and Nonfiction, both Paperback and Hardcover.
