The long-delayed remake of The Toxic Avenger finally came out this past weekend to radioactively glowing reviews (a Beat review is forthcoming). Its combination of hilariously gory violence and goofy jokes made it a perfect end to the summer for sickos. Now, from Legendary Comics comes a graphic novel anthology allowing fans a wider look at the film’s world. Already in stores, this should whet the appetite for fans eager for a sequel.

Dive back into Tromaville with the official TheToxic Avenger graphic novel tie-in to the hit new movie now on sale! Get ready to mop up mayhem—the graphic novel bursts with exclusive, all-new stories that expand the wild, weird world of Tromaville like never before. Featuring brand-new characters, fan-favorite faces, and the legendary Toxie himself, this paperback is the must-have, no-holds-barred continuation of Legendary’s Toxic Avenger. Don’t miss your chance to own a piece of toxic history.

Based on Lloyd Kaufman’s 1984 cult classic from Troma Films, The Toxic Avenger has always thrived on outrageous humor, radioactive satire, and underdog heroics. Legendary’s new reboot—written and directed by Macon Blair and starring Peter Dinklage, Kevin Bacon, and Elijah Wood—reimagines the tale for a new generation while staying true to the franchise’s anarchic, slime-soaked DNA. Now in theaters nationwide, the story spills onto the page with a graphic novel curated by Blair himself, delivering the same offbeat energy, grotesque villains, and radioactive heart that have defined the series for decades, and featuring an exclusive afterword from creator Lloyd Kaufman reminding fans that Toxie remains as relevant and rowdy as ever.

To expand the Tromaville universe even further, the anthology assembles a wild crew of comics’ top writers, artists, and die-hard Toxie fans for a riotous and radioactive ride, including:

  • “Troma Aroma” – Written by Rick Spears & Art by James Callahan
  • “New York” – Written by Ivan Brandon & Art by Fabiana Mascolo
  • “Unkie Helmut” – Written by Umar Ditta & Art by Axel Medellin
  • “Scum Kitten” – Written by Janet Harvey & Art by Sam Curtis and Edgar Tadeo
  • “Toxie & Atticus” – Written by Walter Chaw & Art by Lane Lloyd
  • “Damaged Goods” – Written and Illustrated by Jonas Goonface

With its roots in Kaufman’s cult franchise, its tie-in to Legendary’s reboot film, its slate of all-new stories set in the movie’s universe, and its creative stewardship by Macon Blair, The Toxic Avenger graphic novel is not just an expansion—it’s a celebration of everything that makes Tromaville tick. Slimy, satirical, and spectacularly strange, this release proves that the apocalypse is always better when it’s toxic.
