Last July, Titan comics released Rebel Moon: Nemesis, the comic series prequel to the Netflix original movie Rebel Moon from filmmaker by Zack Snyder. Written by award-winning comics writer Gail Simone with art by Frederico Bertoni, the series details the origins of breakout character Nemesis. Her quest for vengeance acts as a direct prequel to the 2023 film, as the titular assassin embarks on completing her list of sixteen targets to kill in violent retribution.
The comics is perfect for fans of Snyder’s film and epic space operas. Before she became the sword-wielding cyborg assassin, Nemesis was an innocent young woman, who quickly finds herself in the warpath of Imperium Soldiers, who slaughter her entire family. With nothing left to lose, she becomes violent threat to the Imperium. It’s an action-packed and badass story in the style of a revenge western, but with the epic science fiction flare of the 2023 film that inspired it.
When discussing what drew her to the project, Simone stated:
I was fascinated by this character, Nemesis, played fantastically and almost without dialog, by actress Doona Bae. Her themes of maternity and grief just hit me hard. I can’t think of another character quite like her.
Titan Comics has announced the release date of the collected edition of Rebel Moon: Nemesis for March 3rd, 2026. It’s now available for preorder from Amazon, Books A Million and Barnes and Noble in the United States, and Forbidden Planet in Europe and the UK.
