Paramount Plus likes to say they have a mountain of TV shows and movies (get it?), so we’re here to help you navigate through all of those choices. Find the full list of everything that is coming to Paramount Plus this October, from classic movies and TV shows to streaming replays of current broadcast TV shows, Paramount Plus originals and live sports.

But first, here are What to Watch’s picks for the best of the best of new content on Paramount Plus this month.

Best movie on Paramount Plus in October: Hell or High Water (October 1)

There are a couple of great cat-and-mouse crime thrillers coming to Paramount Plus in October. One is Heat, the classic Al Pacino, Robert De Niro and Michael Mann movie getting a sequel (Heat 2), but the other, and my personal pick for the month is Hell or High Water. Hell or High Water follows two brothers (Ben Foster and Chris Pine), one an ex-con and the other a divorced dad trying to keep his farm from being foreclosed on, who decide to rob the banks. Soon on their tail is a brilliant, if tough to work with, a Texas Ranger, portrayed by an Oscar-nominated Jeff Bridges. It’s a fantastic heist movie that sees everyone on their A-game.

Best TV show on Paramount Plus in October: Lioness season 2 (October 27)

Nicole Kidman and Zoe Saldana in Lioness

With Yellowstone season 5 returning and a new Taylor Sheridan-created series, Landman, premiering in November, Lioness season 2‘s return kind of flew under the radar, but it should be welcome news for fans of the spy/action series that new episodes arrive this month. Zoe Saldana and Nicole Kidman are back as the leaders of an elite CIA operations team that uses female agents to gather intel on dangerous threats. A new Lioness is being introduced this season, but expect plenty more action after the thrilling first season.

There’s all kinds of football streaming on Paramount Plus this month, including weekly NFL games and international football with UEFA Champions League and Serie A matches streaming. But our pick for this month is the slate of college football games as the season gets into exciting conference matchups. Paramount Plus is streaming the first military academy game of the season this month as Navy takes on Air Force, while there are also going to be weekly Big Ten matchups on the platform (specific games TBD). As we prepare for the first 12-team college football playoff, there’s a lot riding on these games.
