Two authentic photographs from 1999 show Sean “Diddy” Combs holding a small white pill in his hand while his arm was around Kate Moss.
While the two photographs are real, we could not confirm that it was indeed a pill he was holding. At this point, decades after the pictures were taken, viewers can only speculate on what the object was.
Following hip-hop mogul and accused sex trafficker Sean “Diddy” Combs’ arrest and ongoing legal battles, two photos of the rapper alongside supermodel Kate Moss spread widely in December 2024. Some social media users speculated about what Combs was holding in one of his hands.
One X post drew a red circle around Combs’ left hand to highlight a tiny white object he appeared to be grasping. One person claimed the object was a pill, while another added that it could have been used to drug Moss. A blog post on a website called Lipstick Alley said the pictures showed Diddy feeding Moss something “suspicious.”

While the photographs in question are authentic, it was not possible to verify exactly what Combs was holding in his hand. Combs has been accused in lawsuits of drugging and raping people. However, unless Moss comes forward claiming the same, which she has never done, and unless we can verify that the object in Combs’ hand was indeed a drug used for that purpose, we have rated this claim as unproven.
Examples of the pictures appeared in LIFE magazine’s archives on Google Arts & Culture and Shutterstock. One of them was also used in a 2015 Daily Mail article about Combs’ partying and skincare habits. According to Shutterstock, the photograph was taken in 1999 at agent Paul Rowland’s 40th birthday party in New York City.
In both photos, a small white object is visible between the fingers of Combs’ left hand.

However, it was not possible to definitively determine what the object was. Therefore, we cannot conclude that it was a pill used for drugging, nor that it was specifically used to drug Moss.
Moss and Combs appeared to be friends. In 1999, they shot a cover together for the U.S. version of fashion magazine Vogue. Combs used that same photo shoot for his mixtape, MMM, in 2015.
Moss was also ever-present in the tabloids during the 2000s. News outlets reported on her allegedly using cocaine and she was frequently the subject of numerous rumors and stories about her purported hard-partying lifestyle. The model has not spoken about Combs or any of the allegations made against him.
Such speculation is not out of the ordinary, given the many accusations against Combs. He was arrested in September 2024 on charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. Most recently, in December 2024, he was accused of drugging and raping three men in a series of lawsuits. He faces numerous accusations of sexual-assault, battery and trafficking in lawsuits from people who were minors when such incidents occurred and from his former girlfriend, among others.
Diddy has repeatedly denied the accusations he faces.
