Wind Breaker‘s popularity continues to soar as Kodansha accelerates its print release schedule to one volume per month.

Fans will still have to wait a bit before they get their print volumes on a more frequent basis. The publisher will start the monthly print release in July 2025, but Volume 9 of Wind Breaker releases on Feb. 4, 2025. Those who are raring to see what happens next can read the series digitally, also on Kodansha, for up to 17 volumes.

Satoru Nii wrote and illustrated Wind Breaker, which follows Haruka Sakura, an unruly high schooler attending Fuurin High School—a place notorious for near-dropout delinquents. Extremely skilled at fighting, Haruka has been an outcast all his life, but that changes when he realizes the school may be full of brawlers, but these brawlers just want to protect their town. Caught off guard though swayed, Haruka vows to get stronger and be the best fighter possible to do the same. Between its digital and print versions, Wind Breaker has sold over 1.22 million copies as of March 2022.

CloverWorks adapted Wind Breaker into an anime in April 2024. Toshifumi Akai directed the first season, with Hiroshi Seko handling the scripts. The 13-episode season concluded in June, and a second season quickly followed its announcement. The series has also expanded into a stage play and a video game. The play ran in Osaka from January 1 to 3 and will move to Tokyo for performances from January 10 to 19. The video game, launching on March 12, will be available in Japan for iOS, Android, and PC via Steam.

The first season of Wind Breaker is available to stream on Crunchyroll in subbed and dubbed versions. Season 2 will premiere sometime in April 2025.
