Warner Bros. Japan has officially announced that Steel Ball Run, the next installment in the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure anime saga, is now in production. The reveal was made during the JOJODAY STAGE event on April 12, alongside the release of a new teaser trailer and key visuals for the highly anticipated adaptation.

Fans can now get their first glimpse of the anime’s take on protagonists Johnny Joestar and Gyro Zeppeli through the newly unveiled character art and announcement trailer, which is available to watch on YouTube here.

This marks the seventh part of Hirohiko Araki’s iconic JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure series to be adapted into anime, and follows Stone Ocean, which concluded in 2022. Steel Ball Run is widely considered one of the most beloved arcs in the manga, centering on a high-stakes cross-country horse race set in 19th-century America with supernatural twists and philosophical depth.

To celebrate this new chapter in the anime franchise, Warner Bros. Japan and the Tokyu Group have launched JOJO × SHIBUYA, a large-scale promotional event taking place in Shibuya, Tokyo, from March 21 to April 28.

Highlights of the campaign include:

  • JOJO-themed installations across six Tokyu Group locations, including MAGNET by Shibuya109, Shibuya Hikarie, and Shibuya Stream.

  • A special hotel plan at Shibuya Excel Hotel Tokyu, which includes original JoJo merchandise.

  • Collaboration cafes at Lounge Estacion Café and A Bientôt, featuring JoJo-inspired menus and exclusive items for customers who order themed dishes.

  • A postcard giveaway at participating food areas for customers who spend over 1,500 yen.

  • A POP-UP SHOP selling limited-edition JOJO × SHIBUYA merchandise.
