To say this season of Love Island USA was polarizing would be an incredible understatement.
The season has been filled with many ups and downs, and while the reality dating series may be breaking streaming records, it’s certainly not endearing itself to longtime Love Island fans who aren’t exactly feeling the love with one hour left to go.
As the series winds down and a winner looms on the horizon, I’m wondering who you feel is the best couple to take home the Love Island crown for the following year.
I’ve watched many a Love Island USA season, circling back to the very first one, but this is a final unlike one I can remember seeing in a long time.
All the couples in the finale are relatively new, and it’s severely lacking OG islanders, which is often a staple of a Love Island season.

Often, the final couples include a couple who have been paired up since the beginning, an OG islander who found their perfect match with a bombshell, or a couple who form during the infamous Casa Amor stint.
Things are much different this season, and no matter how you feel about the season as a whole, a winner will be crowned soon. So, let’s get into each couple and their chances of winning the season.
Olandria & Nic

Nicolas “Nic” Vansteenberghe and Olandria Carthen are OG islanders who met on the first night and even shared a passionate kiss when the cast was asked to couple up within the first hours.
Nic and Olandria didn’t couple up then, and from that point forward, their paths diverged as they both embarked on and pursued connections with other people.
But eagle-eyed fans always spotted “Nicolandria” crumbs in various episodes, as the two had a palpable chemistry that could be seen in various ways, especially when the two would kiss in challenges.
The internet has been ablaze with them since the very beginning, championing the couple even when they couldn’t have been further apart. But their manifesting and good vibes came full circle when a Casa Amor twist saw the two of them coupled up for a day.
After an earth-shattering kiss, the two decided being friends was the only thing on their Love Island menu, and fans again thought that may be the end of their story, and consequently, the biggest what-if of all time.

But once their previous connections were no longer in the picture, Nic and Olandria decided to take a chance on each other. And although they haven’t been coupled up for long, the one thing these two have over the other couples in the final is a friendship base.
They’ve been friends since the beginning, and as they’ve worked to see if their connection could grow beyond that, you can see both of them being more vulnerable and giving in to their mutual attraction.
While the two receive a lot of forced allegations due to their late coupling and past connections, I dare you to watch how they speak to each other and in their confessionals, and tell me you don’t see genuine care between them.
The two have a large fanbase that has been rooting for them since the first hour of the show, and it would not be at all surprising to see the pair showered with confetti and champagne when the series wraps its seventh season.
Huda & Chris

Huda Mustafa was an OG islander who had an immediate spark with Jeremiah Brown. The two then embarked on a two-week journey that was passionate but also extremely tumultuous.
As their relationship began to crumble, a twist from America had Jeremiah coupling up with bombshell Iris Kendall, and from that point forward, their relationship never recovered.
Huda was pretty adrift from that point onward, with fans and even some of her fellow islanders feeling her time was up and she should have ridden off into the Fiji sunset. But that’s not what happened.
Instead, Huda went to Casa Amor and she ended up recoupling with Chris Seeley, who was first linked to fellow islander Michelle “Chelley” Bissainthe.

It wasn’t clear at first whether Huda and Chris were going to give their mini casa spark a real chance, but life in the main villa pushed them closer. Throughout the final days of the season, they fully embraced and pursued a romantic connection.
Unfortunately, though, in the days leading up to the finale, they’ve had many more tough conversations and issues than positive ones, and Chris especially hasn’t exactly been the most excited about their dynamic.
Huda has amassed a massive swell of support on social media, and it’s no wonder she got into the finale based on that alone, but getting the big win? That may not be as easy.
If this were any other season, it’s unlikely they’d beat out other couples because of the recent edit, but with a batch of new couples, you can never say never.
Iris & Pepe

Jose “Pepe” Garcia and Iris Kendall came into the villa as bombshells together, and from that point forward, their journeys did not overlap at all.
Both had connections with other people and then found themselves single at the same time as the season came to an end.
Of the remaining couples, these two seem the most put of the blue, if only because there were no real conversations between them before they both found themselves single and vulnerable.
For that reason alone, they would be a sleeper pick to win, but considering they made it to the final four couples, it’s safe to assume there are a lot of people out there rooting for them.
The two spend a lot of time together now that they’re coupled up, and there’s a vibe. But is it too little, too late for them to take the crown from one of the other couples?
Amaya & Bryan

Amaya Espinal had a rough start to her Love Island USA journey, with some failed couplings and a lack of stable connection. But things changed for her after Casa Amor, when a developing connection with Casa Boy Bryan Arenales started to take shape.
The two found each other at an interesting point in the process. While Amaya had other guys interested in her before the final recoupling, she felt drawn to Bryan after he stood up for her during a heated night in the villa, where islanders were standing on business in a frankly uncomfortable watch.
Amaya and Bryan’s connection has strengthened since their coupling, and Amaya Papaya’s wonderful and carefree attitude fits well with Bryan, who’s very appreciative of who she is and meshes well with her positive vibes.
Like many of the other girls this season, Amaya has amassed a very loyal fanbase who would love to see her get the win after a roller coaster of a season.
That support could push them to the end as America’s big winner.
