Another week, another confused bestseller list: only one title made it onto all five of the biggest bestseller lists, and that’s The Widow by John Grisham. No books were included in the top ten of four of the five. Which means this roundup is mostly just the books on three lists, including The Black Wolf by Louise Penny and Heart Life Music by Kenny Chesney with Holly Gleason.
This list continues to lack of diversity on many levels, including being disproportionately by white authors. Some Indie Bestsellers you should know about are Katabasis by R. F. Kuang, The Loneliness of Sonia and Sunny by Kiran Desai, and Good Things by Samin Nosrat.
To get these numbers, we look at the New York Times, both Combined Print & E-Book Fiction and Combined Print & E-Book Nonfiction lists; Amazon Charts, both Fiction and Nonfiction; Publishers Weekly; USA Today; and Indie Bestsellers, Fiction and Nonfiction, both Paperback and Hardcover.
