A new boy band doesn’t usually start with Simon Cowell, a Netflix series, and a name that’s literally a date, but December 10 did!
Seven members were pulled together for their voices, chemistry, and personality, and the result is a group with instant lore, big moments, and seven very different stories behind the vocals.
Here are 50 fun facts about December 10, from the early milestones to the details you’ll want to know about Cruz, Danny, Hendrik, John, Josh, Nicolas, and Seán.
December 10 formed on Netflix’s Simon Cowell: The Next Act, where Cowell built a seven-member boy band from auditions.
Their name “December 10” comes from the Netflix series’ release date, December 10, 2025, and it is basically the band’s on-screen anniversary.
After over a thousand audition performances, Simon Cowell narrowed his search to 16 singers, who headed to Miami for in-person tests of their vocals and group chemistry.
Simon Cowell originally aimed for a five-member lineup, but settled on seven because he didn’t want to make any further cuts.
Their final seven members are Cruz, Hendrik, Seán, John, Josh, Danny, and Nicolas, each chosen for a different vocal tone and personality.
After the band’s name was announced, Scottish metal band “December Tenth” said fans were confusing the two acts, and asked Simon Cowell, Netflix, and Universal Music Group to contact their legal team.
Fans quickly nicknamed the group “D10,” a shortened name that even Netflix Tudum has used. Tudum is Netflix’s official fan site, named after the “tudum” sound you hear when Netflix starts.
Their first official release, uploaded to YouTube on December 15, 2025, was a live acoustic cover of *NSYNC’s “Bye Bye Bye,” which reached 250,000 views within three days.
December 10 signed with EMI Records in December 2025, joining a UK label under Universal that has also worked with artists like Taylor Swift, The Killers, and Tears for Fears.
December 10 announced their first UK and Ireland live shows on January 12, 2026, which sold out within minutes, then added eight extra performances over the following days, expanding the run from 5 dates to 13.
On January 23, 2026, Toyota became December 10’s first major brand partner, headlining their sold-out live dates and featuring “Run My Way” in its Aygo X Hybrid campaign.
Their debut original single, “Run My Way,” was released on January 30, 2026, and entered the UK Official Singles Chart at No. 72 that week.
“Run My Way” was written by Savan Kotecha and Rami Yacoub, who have also worked with Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, Lady Gaga, and Britney Spears.
December 10 are more than just singers, as the seven members can play 14 instruments between them, including guitar, drums, bass, piano, harmonica, clarinet, and percussion.
The band’s first official Meet & Greet event, called “Meet the Band,” was held at UMusic Shop Camden on February 1, 2026, where ticket-holding fans could meet the boys, chat with other fans, and take photos.
