Months before playing a young Jason Voorhees in “Crystal Lake,” Callum Vinson entered the world of spies and government conspiracies in Netflix’s “The Night Agent.” In Season 3 of the Gabriel Basso-led thriller, Vinson appears as the Son — the extremely perceptive adopted child of the Father (Stephen Moyer). Living under the alias Henry, the villainous assassin murdered the Son’s parents before kidnapping him and giving him the code name Orion.

Kind and trusting of the Father despite his disturbing circumstances, the Son develops a deep connection with his guardian — who changes his ways only when the Son’s life is in danger. Amid so much brutality in “The Night Agent” Season 3, Vinson’s the Son serves as a bright light of humanity.

It’s not confirmed whether Vinson will reprise his role in “The Night Agent” Season 4, which is slated to be the show’s final run. However, given that the Father has decided to step away from his life as a trained killer, it doesn’t appear likely that the Son will come back. But even if Vinson’s part was limited to “The Night Agent” Season 3, his performance impressed viewers, many of whom praised his natural on-screen presence and emotional depth in the role.

Callum Vinson landed another upcoming role

Callum Vinson’s standout portrayal of the Son wasn’t appreciated only by Netflix subscribers. In fact, he landed another major TV role right before “The Night Agent” Season 3 premiered. “The Night Agent” creator and showrunner Shawn Ryan has nothing but good things to say about Vinson, who was cast as Atreus in Prime Video’s upcoming “God of War” series earlier this year.

In the wake of the news, Ryan took to X to share his experience working with the young star. “Callum plays a substantial role in Season 3 of The Night Agent … and he’s simply the most talented child actor I’ve encountered in my time working in Hollywood,” Ryan wrote. “No surprise Sony execs saw our eps and cast him in this. He’ll be wonderful.”

Unfortunately, production delays stemming from former “God of War” lead Ryan Hurst’s injury most likely mean that Atreus will be recast. Even so, Vinson’s future as an actor looks very promising. Vinson’s new spooky venture in Peacock’s “Friday the 13th” prequel marks a return to horror for him, having previously played Henry Collins in Syfy and the USA Network’s “Chucky” series. With Vinson’s pivotal roles in 2026, it’s probable he will show up on TV screens again soon.
