Skibidi Toilet is getting a movie. And Michael Bay is making it. This is not a drill.
Skibidi Toilet is one of those emerging IPs that is just wild to see become a part of the newer generation’s cultural zeitgeist. Even though its popularity now isn’t as strong as it once was about 2 years ago, from an observer’s viewpoint, the fact it’s part of the newer generation’s slang and vocabulary just goes to show the impact it had on our youths.
For the uninformed, starting in 2023 by the creator known as Boom! Skibidi Toilet is a series of machinimas created within the popular standalone sandbox mod for Half-Life 2 known as Garry’s Mod, or Gmod. The series would surpass 110 million subscribers with an accumulated 35 billion views, cementing its status as a defining cultural force for Generation Alpha. It started as a series of shorts with one of Half-Life 2‘s non-playable characters and a GMOD player model known as Male 07 (modeled after the likeness of Micheal S. Smith), having his head emerge from the game’s standard toilet prop. The head would spin with exaggerated facial expressions while singing a sped up version of Timbaland‘s Give it to Me, remixed with Chupki V krusta by Bulgarian singer Fiki.
As the story of each short continues, what starts as a surreal video of a game character’s head singing a remix from a toilet evolves into a story about these singing toilets taking over the world and a global war being waged against them, notably by humanity and humanoid characters with various electronic devices for heads known as the Cameramen. This series somehow has 25 seasons spanning 78 episodes.

With that context out of the way, cut to May 20th, 2025, when Invisible Narratives (described as a first-of-its-kind “TraDigital” Studio) revealed that production has been underway with filmmaker Michael Bay set to direct Skibidi Toilet. Bay is best known for his blockbuster films such as Armageddon, Bad Boys, Pearl Harbor, and Transformers. Having seen some episodes of Skibidi Toilet, it makes perfect sense that a director known for his energetic visuals, explosive effects, and over-the-top characters would be the best pick to bring this IP’s world and lore to life on the big screen.
Skibidi Toilet isn’t the first time one of Valve‘s licenses has been featured on screen. In the 2012 film Cabin in The Woods, the Left 4 Dead franchise lent its zombies to the roster of monsters that appear in the story. Additionally, the intention was to establish a collaboration between Valve and the movie’s director Drew Goddard to have a custom Left 4 Dead 2 campaign based on Cabin in The Woods. Unfortunately, it never went through.
While we are far away from any official trailers or teasers of the film being revealed, one can only guess what the story would be. Potentially, Micheal Bay will base the visuals and the story around the lore that has been established from the later episodes of the series centered around the war between the Cameramen and the Toilets. But will this plot be engaging enough to audiences?
Given that Skibidi Toilet has been a part of this generation’s vernacular for a while now, it’s fair to ask if there will even be any interest in the film by the time it releases? The Skibidi Toilet IP, while having exploded in popularity in 2023 and 2024, hasn’t remained as strong or as relevant in pop culture since it came up, and as time moves on, its relevancy will continue to decline. Gen Alpha, who is the main demographic of Skibidi Toilet, is growing up, and earlier generations just view Skibidi Toilet as too abstract or weird to really invest time in. I suspect that by the time it is released, it will most likely bomb at the box office, depending on the budget of the film. But I could be easily proven wrong as 2025’s A Minecraft Movie has been a financial and cultural success since its release. So who knows what to expect at this point. Skibidi Toilet‘s only lasting impact on our culture is hearing younger generations saying “Skibidi” at random moments, as well as within meme culture.
Regardless, it seems this film is indeed happening. This isn’t a late April fools’ joke, and it just goes to show how unpredictable the future can be.
