A rumor that circulated online in May 2025 claimed U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi said, “If you feel the need to talk to six-year-olds about sexuality, you’re not a teacher… you’re a predator.”

On May 8, a manager of the Reagan Was Right Facebook page posted a meme featuring a photo of Bondi with the alleged quote. The post’s text caption read, “Teachers need to keep their personal lifestyles at home.” The post received over 173,000 reactions, 6,900 comments and 38,000 shares.

Variations of the rumor spread on Facebook, Instagram and potentially other platforms.

Some readers seemed to interpret the rumor as a factual recounting of real-life events. However, searches of Bing, DuckDuckGo, Google and Yahoo found no news media outlets reporting on the quote.

Rather, the rumor about Bondi labeling teachers who talk to six-year-olds about sexuality as predators originated with America’s Last Line of Defense (ALLOD) — a network of Facebook pages and websites describing its output as humorous or satirical in nature.

Reagan Was Right, a Facebook page under the ALLOD umbrella of pages and websites, features a disclaimer in its bio, describing itself as “An authorized dumping ground for profitable right-wing propaganda and confirmation bias-based nonsense courtesy of America’s Last Line of Defense. Nothing on this page is real.” The Bondi quote meme also displayed a logo for America’s Last Line of Defense, the words “nothing on this page is real,” and an “S” for “satire” rating label.

The fictional story began spreading on the Reagan Was Right Facebook page following the U.S. Justice Department’s announcement about Operation Restore Justice. The Justice Department’s website described the operation as “a coordinated enforcement effort to identify, track and arrest child sex predators,” resulting in “the rescue of 115 children and the arrests of 205 child sexual abuse offenders in the nationwide crackdown.” Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel spoke about the matter in front of the press on May 7.

Snopes has addressed other claims about Bondi in the past, including the assertion that Bondi said anyone who said “f*** Trump” would be sent to El Salvador for 15 years, as well as a video showing her saying fentanyl seizures in the first 100 days of Trump’s second term “saved 258 million lives.”

For background, here is why we alert readers to rumors created by sources calling their output humorous or satirical.
