WEBTOON Entertainment has announced a major new partnership with BOOM! Studios that will bring several fan-favorite comics, including James Tynion IV’s Something Is Killing the Children, to its digital platform in vertical-scroll format for the first time.
Alongside Something Is Killing the Children, readers can also look forward to Wynd, Fence, and Lumberjanes arriving on WEBTOON. The collaboration makes WEBTOON the exclusive home for webcomic editions of these hit titles.
“WEBTOON connects fans around the world with some of the best storytelling in comics,” said Yongsoo Kim, Chief Strategy Officer and Head of Global WEBTOON. “BOOM!’s catalog has earned recognition from fans and industry professionals alike. We’re excited to bring modern classics and genre-defining series like Something Is Killing the Children to new audiences.”
BOOM! Studios President Jen Harned echoed the enthusiasm, noting that WEBTOON’s unique reading experience opens the door to new and existing fans. “BOOM! Studios is always looking for more ways to reach readers, and WEBTOON’s platform provides a great opportunity to experience our content,” she said.
Tynion, the GLAAD and Eisner Award-winning writer behind Something Is Killing the Children and Wynd, expressed excitement about reintroducing his work in a new format. “It’s been incredible to see how Something Is Killing the Children and Wynd have connected with fans. I’m eager to see them in vertical scroll, and grateful for the opportunity to bring them to new readers.”
The BOOM! titles coming to WEBTOON include:
Something Is Killing the Children – The Eisner Award-winning horror comic about the missing children of Archer’s Peak, which has sold more than five million copies.
Wynd – A fantasy adventure about a boy with magical blood, from Tynion and artist Michael Dialynas.
Fence – A sports drama following young fencer Nicholas Cox as he enters the competitive world of fencing.
Lumberjanes – The Eisner and GLAAD Award-winning series about five friends at summer camp who face supernatural adventures together.
Launch dates for the series will be announced later. Fans can also learn more about the partnership at New York Comic Con 2025, where WEBTOON and BOOM! Studios will host a joint panel titled “Legends Reborn: Iconic Comics, New Adventures on WEBTOON” on Saturday, October 11.
