It’s about time! Paramount+ finally confirmed what fans have been hoping (and assuming) since that killer finale — Dexter: Resurrection has been renewed for Season 2.

From showrunner Clyde Phillips and starring the ever-brilliant Michael C. Hall, the series resurrected America’s favorite code-bound serial killer in a way that actually made sense.

We’ve been dying to see where this darker, New York-set chapter would go next.

The streamer (and Michael C. Hall himself) announced that the Season 2 writers’ room is already open, which means we can start speculating wildly about what Dexter and Harrison might be up to next.

If you need a refresher, Dexter: Resurrection picked up after Dexter: New Blood, reuniting father and son as they navigated their shared darkness under the bright lights of the city that never sleeps.

Phillips — who also created the upcoming Dexter: Original Sin (RIP, gone too soon) — continues to steer the ship, joined by executive producers Michael C. Hall, Scott Reynolds, Tony Hernandez, Lilly Burns, and Marcos Siega.

Produced by Paramount Television Studios and Counterpart Studios, Resurrection has proven that you can’t keep a good killer down.

Honestly, we’re still a little verklempt about Original Sin getting the axe before its time — the prequel had so much promise — but this renewal softens the blow.

If anything, it’s a sign that the Dexter universe still has plenty of blood to spill and stories to tell.

And let’s be real. Few shows manage to reinvent themselves this effectively.

Hall slips back into Dexter’s skin like he never left, and the moral murkiness of his relationship with Harrison adds a layer of emotional tension we didn’t know we needed.

The creative team found a way to honor the original series while carving out something fresh and unpredictable, and that’s no small feat in today’s reboot-happy landscape.

All episodes of Dexter: Resurrection Season 1 are streaming now for Paramount+ Premium subscribers, so if you somehow missed the comeback, it’s the perfect time to catch up before Season 2 starts carving its next path.

Because if Dexter Morgan’s back, you know things are about to get crazy — and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Who’s excited for Season 2??
