One of the best YA shows on TV is thisclose to a return!
Paramount+ today revealed a first look teaser for School Spirits Season 3, and while it doesn’t offer much by way of intention, it sure gets the juices flowing.
And the best part? The premiere is under two months away.
We at TV Fanatic just published an article about how much we’re missing young adult genre programming, and we didn’t even mention School Spirits.
With so much content, sometimes even the best goes unrecognized the longer it’s been off the air. And let’s be clear, the show Nate & Megan Trinrud created is one of the best.
But get this, with a premiere date of January 28, it means School Spirits wasn’t even off the air for a whole year. In today’s environment, that’s almost unheard of.
And thank GOD, am I right?
The School Spirits Season 2 finale delivered one cliffhanger after another, and resolution can’t come soon enough. Not that I expect it will be that easy.
Maddie returned to her body. Is her story over? Will she be different after the experience? Will she still see spirits, or will she be the new Simon? Is there a chance she won’t remember being between worlds at all?

Simon got more than he bargained for when he got stuck in Mr. Martin’s scar. Yes, the same Mr. Martin who started the fire that killed him and Janet.
And Janet? She could have crossed over, but has decided to stay behind to help others. They made a significant difference on her, that’s for sure.
Wally, too, finally cleared away the obstacles to his crossing over. But did he go? Oh, please say no. Wally is my favorite character. He can’t leave Maddie behind. But he’s also not in the Season 3 cast photo above. Not officially, anyway.
Xavier can see spirits. That opened up an entirely new level of storytelling for him, and since The Way Home is canceled, Spencer Macpherson has all the time in the world to explore them.
Every character has discovered so much about themselves and the afterlife that it feels like this story is just beginning.

Officially, School Spirits Season 3 plunges Maddie and her friends into a deeper, darker mystery as the veil between worlds grows dangerously thin, delivering twists that challenge everything they thought they knew.
After clawing her way back to life, Maddie struggles with terrifying visions and the weight of protecting both the living and the dead while Simon — trapped in the afterlife — becomes obsessed with the secrets buried in Split River High’s scars.
Why have so many people died at Split River High? What was Mr. Martin warning them about? As they search for answers, new dangers and dark secrets begin to surface.
School spirits stars Peyton List as Maddie Nears, Kristian Ventura as Simon Elroy, Spencer MacPherson as Xavier Baxter, Kiara Pichardo as Nicole Herrera, and Sarah Yarkin as Rhonda.
Others include Nick Pugliese as Charley, Rainbow Wedell as Claire Zomer, Josh Zuckerman as Mr. Martin, Ci Hang Ma as Quinn, Miles Elliot as Yuri, and Milo Manheim as Wally Clark.

Newcomers this season include recurring guest stars Jennifer Tilly as Dr. Hunter-Price, Ari Dalbert as Kyle, and Erika Swayze as Livia, who join returning recurring guest stars Maria Dizzia as Sandra.
Other newcomers include Patrick Gilmore as Mr. Anderson, Alex Zahara as Principal Hartman, Ian Tracey as Sheriff Baxter, Jess Gabor as Janet, and Zack Calderon as Diego.
School Spirits returns to Paramount+ on January 28 with three episodes.
Here’s your first look. Are you as ready to return to Split River High as I am?
