This week, there are four titles that all the bestseller lists can agree on. Surprisingly, Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir isn’t in the #1 spot, despite its recent blockbuster adaptation. There are also two titles appearing on this list for the first time: a romance novel and a nonfiction book.
Something you won’t see represented here is all the children’s Easter and spring books flying off the shelves, since most bestseller lists have kids’ books in a separate category. If you check out the Publishers Weekly and USA Today lists, though, you’ll see almost half the spots filled with picture books that have bunnies on the covers.
This list continues to lack of diversity on many levels, including being disproportionately by white authors. Some Indie Bestsellers you should know about are Sisters in Yellow by Mieko Kawakami, Kin by Tayari Jones, and One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This by Omar El Akkad.
