A man who gardaí (Irish police) want to speak to in connection with the murder of a woman has been arrested in Jordan.
A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said the force was aware the man had been arrested by Jordanian authorities.
Gardaí had not sought his arrest or detention, but Garda headquarters has been informed of the development.
The murder inquiry began after a woman in her 40s died following an incident at an address in Killarney, County Kerry, on 7 July.
She was named locally as Jamey Carney, who was originally from New York but moved to the area about five years ago and lived with her daughter.
Two days later gardaí said a man they were seeking to speak to about the murder had already left the country.
Interpol and Europol have been alerted of the investigation.
