Casting News: Sheen Family Sitcom, Icebreaker Adds 6, And More – TVLine

Charlie Sheen is returning to series-regular television — and he’s bringing his real-life dad along for the ride.

Sheen and father Martin Sheen are set to play father and son in “Happy Jack,” a new multi-camera comedy series ordered at AMC, TVLine has learned. The six-episode first season — which will film in front of a live studio audience at Warner Bros. Studios, where Sheen previously shot “Two and a Half Men” — is slated to begin production in early 2027 ahead of a premiere later that year.

Per the official logline, Charlie Sheen stars as Jack Chambers, “a lifelong ne’er-do-well” and father of two grown daughters — though his own father (Martin Sheen) “deserves more credit for how they turned out.” When Jack’s daughter Sam comes home with a new boyfriend — a former investment banker-turned-van life guru who happens to be Jack’s age — Jack must decide whether to continue looking out for himself or take “this last chance to be a real part of his daughters’ lives.”

The series also reunites Charlie Sheen with several “Two and a Half Men” veterans behind the scenes. Jim Patterson and Matt Ross will serve as co-showrunners and executive producers, with Sheen, Todd Christopher, and “Men” EPs Eric and Kim Tannenbaum also executive-producing alongside Jason Wang.

• Netflix’s “Icebreaker” has rounded out its cast with six more series regulars: Gabriel Tierney (“Rivals”) as Aaron, Auliʻi Cravalho (“Moana”) as Lola, newcomer and professional athlete Peter Berry as Robbie, Chaneil Kular (“Sex Education”) as JJ, Devin Craig (“The Sex Lives of College Girls”) as Henry, and Aidan Shaw (“Heated Rivalry”) as Russ. The college romance drama, based on the Hannah Grace novel of the same name, previously cast Daisy Jelley as Anastasia “Stassie” Allen and Connor Simos as Nate Hawkins.
• AMC’s “The Audacity” has added Tom Hollander (“FEUD: Capote vs. The Swans”) in a recurring role as Big Tim, a powerful tech billionaire and CEO of Cupertino whose carefully curated public persona masks an insatiable appetite for control and revenge. Season 2, which is currently in production, is expected to premiere in 2027.
• “Saturday Night Live UK” (which airs stateside on Peacock) has named its next three hosts, per Variety: Danny Dyer (“Rivals”) on October 10, with musical guest Sasha Keable; James Norton (“House of the Dragon”) on October 17, with musical guest the Streets; and Cynthia Erivo (“Wicked”) on October 24, with musical guest Blossoms.
