Claim:

A photo authentically depicts Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein seated together on a private plane.

Rating:

In December 2024, an image spread online allegedly depicting President-elect Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein — the late financier and convicted child sex trafficker — seated together aboard a private plane.

While there are multiple authentic photos of the two together — as we’ve previously reported — this image is not one of them. There are clear visual indications of AI-generation (artificial intelligence), including Epstein appearing to have three legs and a mysterious face being present to the right of Trump’s head.

Numerous X users have posted the image throughout 2024, but most recently, one X user uploaded it in response to a post about Kash Patel, Trump’s pick for FBI director, by American media personality Caitlyn Jenner. As of this writing, the image has received more than 62,100 views.

Social media users pointed out the dodgy appearance of the image in other X posts, with one saying: “I actually hope you know that’s a horrible photoshop job.” Another said: “Imagine posting this thinking it’s real. How embarrassing. Super cringe dude.

When run through AI detection software Illuminarty, the results came back with a 99.4% probability of it being AI-generated. When checked with Hive, another AI detection program, the result came back as 100% likely to have been AI-generated, as shown below.

Lastly, results using Google’s reverse-image search tool were mostly X posts, with a remaining few originating from other social media platforms.

If this was an authentic photo, major credible news outlets would have reported on it and the photographer’s identity could have been confirmed, along with the company that owns the image. As evidenced by a Google Images search, no credible news outlets have ever published such a photo.

In sum, because visual cues, such as Epstein’s three legs and the floating face behind Trump, indicate that the image was AI-generated and not authentic, we have rated this image as fake.
