Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar has offered his condolences following the deadly attack on a Christmas market in the central German city of Magdeburg that left five people dead and 200 more injured.

“Shocking images from Magdeburg, Germany last night,” Saar wrote on social media platform X on Saturday.

“I condemn this devastating crime,” he added, saying he had expressed his country’s condolences to his German counterpart Annalena Baerbock.

“Israel stands with the German people in their mourning and offers any assistance required.”
