Like the headline says, horror publisher American Mythology will be back for its 10th anniversary with a full publishing schedule, and partnered with Prana Publishing.

Just last week, we were asking what publishers had gone under because of Diamond’s bankruptcy, and noted that small indie publishers being a plucky bunch, most of them would fight back in some form or another. Indeed, last year American Mythology did announce they were struggling in the wake of the Diamond mess, but you can’t keep a good publisher down and they are back! According to the PR:

Publishing activity was temporarily placed on hiatus following the 2025 bankruptcy of Diamond Comic Distributors, which significantly impacted comic book distribution across the industry. After navigating this challenging period, American Mythology is now moving forward with renewed momentum and a strengthened strategy for the future.

As part of its relaunch, American Mythology has partnered with Prana Publishers to promote its upcoming full line of comic books directly to comic book retailers. Details regarding distribution—including which distributors will be carrying American Mythology titles—will be announced shortly.

“Reaching our 10th anniversary is both humbling and energizing,” said James Kuhoric, President of American Mythology. “The past year presented unprecedented challenges for publishers across the industry, but it also gave us the opportunity to refocus and rebuild. We’re excited to return stronger than ever, with an expanded slate of titles and a renewed commitment to our retail partners and fans.”

Although American Mythology is not quite a household name, they do have some strong licenses, including Fright Night, Return of the Living Dead, Hatchet, Silent Night, Deadly Night, Valentine Bluffs Massacre, and many more. Prana noted the strength of this line-up in their own anticipatory statement:

“We’re thrilled to be working with American Mythology at such a pivotal moment in their history,” said Atom Freeman of Prana: Direct Market Solutions. “Their catalog of licensed horror properties is second to none, and we’re looking forward to helping reintroduce their full line to comic book retailers and building excitement around what’s coming next.”

American Mythology will announce its full 10th anniversary lineup as well as new projects soonish – but in the meantime, you can support them by checking out their many titles on their web store.
